Baking & Gardening Contests – Honorary judges will select the best fruit pie as well as the Largest Tomato, Largest Zucchini and Largest Sunflower.  Judging begins at Noon Saturday, August 25 (quiet observing OK).  Awards will be presented Saturday at 2p.m on the Community Center at 2:00 pm.

Rules
  • Submit entries by 10:30 a.m. Saturday to the Lucketts Community Center Stage
  • One entry per contest per person
  • No age limit or preregistration
  • Be prepared to verify that entry was grown by contestant
  • (No farmer's market vegetables, please!!)
    Judging begins at 11:00 a.m. Saturday---Awarding at 2:00 p.m. on the Stage

Fruit Pie Baking Contest

PREREGISTRATION A MUST!

Limit---20 registrants each for Adult (13 years and over) and Juniors (12 and under) categories.

 

 

 



Rules

  • Submit entries by 12:00 noon Saturday to Lucketts Community Center Stage
  • Traditional fruit pies (no cream, egg or custard based pies or pies needing refrigeration accepted)
  • Label with name and address on bottom of the pie plate
  • One pie entry per contestant
    Judging begins at 12:00 noon Saturday-- Awarding at 2:00 p.m. on the Stage

HONORARY JUDGES
Pie bakers and gardeners of renown, special people of the community, members of the media, etc.

Ribbon and prizes for top winners

Pie Eating Contest
– We’re looking for speed not quantity!  Come watch the action on the Playground Stage, Saturday at 3 pm where contestants will race to eat a generous slice with their hands tied behind their backs! Pies generously provided by Mom’s Apple Pie!

Rules

  • Contestants will compete to see who can most quickly eat a generous slice of Mom’s Apple Pie (Yum!), with hands held behind their backs.
  • Three contests will be held:  Youth (11 to 18 years old), Adults (19 to 59 years old) and Seniors (60 and above). 
  • Contests will take place at the Playground Stage Saturday, August 25th at 3:00pm.
  • Sign up in advance at the Information Booth (near the Bluegrass Gazebo Stage).  Check in with the Stage Manager at the Playground Stage at 2:45pm to confirm your slot.
  • Contests are limited to 10 participants each.
  • Judges will determine the winners of each competition and their decisions will be final, of course!
  • Bring friends and family to cheer you on and have fun!

Straw Bale Roll, Rooster Crowing Contest & Tractor Pedal Pulls!!!

At 1 pm each day, we’ll have summer games out in left field.  You can compete at straw bale rolling and other country contests! 

Sunday at high noon, we’ll have a rooster crowing contest at the Playground Stage.  Milligan’s Rooster of Sunnyside Farm will be here…use your creativity to make him crow!!!!   

Tractor Pedal Pull – Dune Buggy the Clown will have balloons, magic and fun all weekend at his "Peanut Circus" located near the firehouse. Kids can compete in old-fashioned tractor pedal pulls!  

Saturday          11am (ages 3-7)             4pm (ages 8-12)                                    

Sunday             11am (ages 3-7)             3 pm (ages 8-12).
