Lucketts Fair Committee

Coordinators (and helpers) are needed for every component of the fair, including:

Crafters – Recruiting, selecting and communicating with crafters; planning layout; providing hospitality functions; coordinating logistics of vendor set-up and break-down; administering contest of juried crafters.

Timeframe:Applications mailed January; Juried selection in March, planning and correspondence May and June; logistics and hospitality work in July and August.

Food and Bakery –Selecting and communicating with food vendors; planning layout; coordinating logistics of vendor set-up and break-down.

Timeframe: Applications sent in February; selection March/April; logistical work in July and August.

Entertainment – Selecting and hiring stage entertainers, coordinating stage logistics (staging, arrival, set-up, etc.).

Timeframe: Booking May and June; logistics in August.

Demonstrators and Contests – Recruiting and arranging participation of historic and other demonstrators; planning, conducting and judging contests.

Timeframe: Booking in May and June; logistics in August.

Kids Activities – Arranging for children’s activities including petting zoo, pony rides, sand art and face painting; coordinate Kids Stop program.

Timeframe: Booking April and May; logistics in August.

Sponsorship – Defining sponsorship opportunities; soliciting and recognizing contributions.

Timeframe: Ongoing with major push in July.

Publicity – Drafting, designing and distributing marketing and press materials; updating website; developing fair materials.

Timeframe: Preliminary materials development March and April, materials distribution and other outreach in July and August.

Grounds and Logistics – Coordinating parking and traffic control, signage, grounds layout and set-up.

Timeframe: Ongoing, with major push in the end of July and again at the end of August.

Volunteer Coordinator – Recruiting volunteers to work at the fair, manning gates, helping with set-up and break-down.

Timeframe: Planning, recruiting and coordinating in July and August.
