Lucketts Fair Volunteers Needed!!!

The Lucketts Fair is a long standing tradition where we welcome visitors to our village to celebrate the rural traditions of our community.  The whole community benefits from the fair (community center, PTA, Ruritan Club, churches, scouts, etc.), and the whole community needs to come together to make it a success!!! If you live in or around Lucketts, you should be a part of it!!!  It can be a load of fun!!!

Call Tammy Acup 703-779-3546 evenings
Or email me to get involved!!! tammy@luckettsfair.com.

SET UP
Thursday, August 21st (anytime 9 am to 6 pm) – Volunteers help set up the grounds and prepare for the arrival of a large number of crafters and vendors. This day involves lots of measuring and physical activity!  You get to see the fair come together literally from the ground up!  Some of the activities this day include:

  1. Setup: Setting up tents, entertainment stages and cooling stations
  2. Field Prep: Measuring and marking fields for crafter, vendor and demonstrator booth sites
  3. Site Prep: Moving straw bales and other heavy objects
  4. Signs: Putting up signs around the grounds
  5. Baked Goods: Pick up baked goods from Costco (7am)

Friday, August 22nd(anytime 9 am to 7 pm) – This is a very hectic day with around 250 crafters and vendors arriving for setup!  They are generally in large vehicles and/or pulling large trailers and they need help getting their packet of fair information and finding their booths.  At the same time, we are continuing to complete set up of tents, entertainment stages, admission booths, etc.  Lots of activity and excitement and no end of work available!  We are trying to get babysitters to help watch kids so more folks can help out.  Some of the activities this day include:

  1. Greeter: Welcoming crafters and vendors, providing them with their information packet and helping them find their booth areas
  2. Site Prep: Additional tent and stage and Kid Stop location setup
  3. Field Prep: Moving tables and chairs
